Digital agriculture (DA) is the use of new and advanced integrated technologies to enable farmers and other stakeholders within the agriculture value chain to improve food production. DA system collects combined data more frequently and accurately, often weather information. The combined data is interpreted to the farmers to take more informed and appropriate decisions. Farmers can also get real-time feedback on the impact of their actions. Technologies like Internet of Things (IoT), communication networks, drone, Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics and other advanced machinery bring something valuable to farming sector. This integrated system offers new insights into decision making and implementation processes. Disruptive opportunities vis-à-vis DA bring key advantages for farmers around the world through more productive, more consistent, and efficient time as well as resource management in agriculture. DA interventions are still very new and expensive approach with lesser-known long-term benefits. Collaborations and consensuses are required across the agriculture value chain to overcome challenges for widespread adoption of DA.
