Industrial Safety is a multi-disciplinary approach to developing and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, safe working practices, and maintaining the health and well-being of those employed in a particular occupation or workplace.
Industrial safety is important as it safeguards human life, especially in high risk areas such as nuclear, aircraft, chemical, oil and gases, and mining industries, where a fatal mistake can be catastrophic. Industrial Safety reduces risks to people, and processes.
In order to improve safety in industrial environment various statuary bodies have introduced number of studies and certification compulsory viz. EIA, HAZOP, HAZAN, HIRA etc. and certifications like ISO 9001, ISO 14001,ISO 45001, ISO 50001 etc. Latest addition to all these is ESG & Sustainability reporting.
There are various industries, which are trying to absorb mentioned recommended practices to reduce accidents in their workplaces and running their activities in sustainable manner.
The Centre of Excellence in Occupational Health, Safety, Fire & Environment (C-OHSFE) is aiming to recognise and honoured these industries for their efforts and awarding them “Safety King”. For this purpose, the event is being proposed at GD Goenka University campus, Sohna Road, Gurugram on 23rd February, 2025 at 5.30 P.M. onwards followed by a networking Dinner.
