Webinar titled, ‘How fast is the Universe Expanding: The Hubble Tension!’ was held on 30 July 2021. This webinar aimed to create awareness and provide a perfect platform for the participants to understand various aspects related to the exciting concept of expansion of the universe. Though expansion rate of the universe has been measured with great precision by different groups, later observations indicated a faster expansion in contrast to the measurements based on the cosmic radiation from the early Universe. This disagreement, termed as the Hubble Tension, by the physicists, is a recent crisis in cosmology. In the webinar, speaker, Dr. Shashikant Gupta, Associate Professor and Faculty In-charge, Physics, Department of Basic & Applied Sciences explained some of the possible solutions to this current cosmic puzzle.
