Presentation Skills Competition 2024

Communication Club, School of Management, GDGU 25 September 2024

On 25th September 2024, the Communication Club organised a Presentation Skills Competition from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The event focused on three key topics: Women in the Workplace, AI in the Workplace and Sustainability and Innovation. Teams of 2-5 members delivered presentations between 5 to 10 minutes on these themes, adhering to a formal dress code.

The Judges for the competition were Dr. Anindita Roy Chowdhury, Deputy Dean Academics and Assistant Dean, School of Engineering and Sciences; Dr. Rekha Kaushal, Assistant Professor, School of Liberal Arts; Dr. Kuldeep Siwach, Dean of School of Media and Entertainment.

The competition aimed to enhance students’ presentation and communication skills, with participants showcasing their knowledge and creativity. Each presentation was evaluated on clarity, content, and delivery, with notable insights into gender equality, AI's impact on jobs, and sustainability practices. The competition showcased the collaborative effort displayed by the groups with each member contributing to the final presentation, the event had active participation from both presenters and the audience, with thoughtful questions posed during the Q&A sessions after each presentation, not only that the formal attire dress code was strictly adhered to, adding a sense of seriousness and professionalism to the event.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, recognizing the top-performing teams.

Third Prize – Vanshika Bhatia, Vibhuti, Chandni & Sr Narayani

The success of the competition has set the stage for future events, continuing the club’s mission to develop essential communication skills among students. The competition also helped in showcasing the efforts that were made by the organising committee of the Communication Club, which was the key in holding the entire event together which led to the event being a success. The event ended with a vote of thanks to the judges, participants and club members by Dr. Ramandeep Kaur, Faculty In-charge, Communication Club, SoM, GDGU.
