An insightful panel discussion on 'Technological Evolution Driven by AI: Essential Skills for Graduate Students' was held on August 6, 2024. The event featured distinguished industry experts from leading tech giants, including IBM Innovation Center for Education, Expedia Group, Prodevans Technologies, Salesforce, RedHat, and CloudThat Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

The discussion emphasized Artificial Intelligence (AI) creating opportunities, transforming jobs, and the importance of continuous personal upgradation.

The panel discussion commenced with the opening remarks by Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy, Dean, who discussed AI and its ability to mimic human intelligence for tasks requiring cognitive functions. He highlighted AI as a transformative force reshaping job roles and creating new opportunities. Dr. Mani Madhukar, Program Lead at IBM Innovation Center for Education, emphasized the need for a shift in skill sets to adapt to AI's advancements. He encouraged students to embrace AI and emerging technologies as tools to enhance their capabilities and unlock innovative possibilities. Mr. Sanjay Srivastava, Head Public Sector, Asia Pacific, RedHat, highlighted that while technological advancements, such as the advent of computers, had historically sparked fears of job loss, they instead paved the way for new opportunities and drove industry growth and innovation. Mr. Lokesh Kansal, Principal Software Engineer, Expedia Group, and Mr. Deepak Mishra, CEO, Prodevans Technologies, discussed the practical applications of AI across various industries. They highlighted how AI is seamlessly integrated into everyday processes, enhancing efficiency and improving decision-making. Mr. Yudhisther Yadav, India Lead - Partner Success and Ecosystem Growth, Salesforce and Ms. Gurjot Brar, Vertical Head and SME, CloudThat Technologies Pvt. Ltd., emphasized the importance of adaptability and continuous learning. They encouraged students to stay curious and proactive in acquiring new skills and technologies, as the tech landscape continues to evolve rapidly. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Prerna Sharma, Assistant Professor.
