Career Opportunities after Completing a Degree in Social Sciences

On July 25th, the School of Liberal Arts, GD Goenka University hosted an insightful workshop titled Career Opportunities after Completing a Degree in Social Sciences. The event aimed to enlighten students about the vast array of career paths available to those with a background in social sciences. The session was led by Ms. Priya Lanka and Ms. Ankur Pradhan, CEO and Research Manager of We Avec U, respectively Ms. Priya Lanka began the workshop by emphasizing the versatility of a social sciences degree, highlighting how the skills acquired—such as critical thinking, research, and communication—are highly valued across various industries. She provided an overview of career paths, including education, social work, and public administration roles.

The workshop also delved into emerging fields where social sciences graduates contribute significantly. Ms. Ankur Pradhan discussed opportunities in market research, human resources, and corporate social responsibility. She shared inspiring success stories of social sciences graduates who have ventured into

entrepreneurship and consultancy, utilizing their expertise to address societal challenges.
