Dr. Usha K. Baveja, a renowned Microbiologist from Medanta-The Medicity, Gurugram delivered a session of knowledge on optimization of antimicrobial treatment on November 21, 2017.
She laid emphasis on the inappropriate use of antimicrobial medicines in the present era. She also discussed the role of antibiotics in non- human use like animal husbandry, poultry farms etc. Dr. Baveja motivated the audience to take part in guiding the society about irrational of self-use of antibiotics to prevent ever increasing cases of anti-microbial resistance. She disseminated the detailed knowledge about dosage and side effects associated common antimicrobial therapy. Dr.Baveja shared her clinical experience of treating patients with microbial infections. Overall, this session apprised students about the myths and facts associated with use of antimicrobial agents
