REVA 2019: GDGU Freshers’ Party

SOED organised a guest lecture by renowned academician Prof. Dhananjay Joshi, Dean University Institute of Education, GGSIPU Delhi. Prof. Joshi gave a lecture on ‘Value-based education: Need for professional development of teacher’. He elaborated on the rich cultural past and present technological achievements of India.Glory of India’s ancient past was emphasised by Dr Joshi in his talk. He talked about the importance of including indigenous and folk knowledge in our education system.Curriculum developers must focus on development of values in order to facilitate holistic development.He claimed that sincerity and moral integrity must be the basis of all education. Education must go beyond examinations and employment opportunities.He raised questions about the true meaning of education, values, and value education. It was indeed a stimulating session for all our pupil-teachers.Many students asked questions and gave comments at the end of the talk. Dr Joshi obliged them by giving appropriate responses.
