World Pharmacists Day
School of Medical and Allied Sciences, GD Goenka University celebrated the World Pharmacists Day on September 25, 2017. The aim of the day is to bring attention to pharmacists and the positive benefits they offer when it comes to health. On this special event, pharmacy oath was taken by pharmacy staff and students. Dr. Rohit Dutt, Assistant Dean, SoMAS addressed the audience about role of pharmacist in providing healthcare to the society. In order to make this event more fruitful, a guest interactive session by Dr. Sumit Anand from Abbott Laboratories was organised, for enlighten our students. He is presently heading the clinical affairs division for Abbott Laboratories India Sub continent, South East Asia, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan. Students of pharmacy showed their clinical skills by organising the Blood Group Check Camp in the Campus followed by a quiz and Elocution competition. Such activities will go a long way in boosting the morale of the registered pharmacists / student pharmacists and in recognition of pharmacy profession in the society.
