GD Goenka University celebrated National Science Day 2025 on February 28 with the theme Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat. Organized by the School of Engineering & Sciences, School of Agricultural Sciences, and School of Healthcare & Allied Sciences, the event brought together students, faculty, and industry experts.
Speakers included Dr. Arshad Khuroo, Head of Bioavailability & Bioequivalence, Sun Pharma (Chief Guest); Mr. Ankit Trivedi, Lead Incubator, ICAT Manesar (Guest of Honor); and Mr. Praval Sharma, Manager, ICAT Manesar, who spoke on India's potential in science and innovation.
Around 1,000 students from institutions including Global Institute of Technology and Management, Manav Rachna University, Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University, ABES Engineering College, and others participated.
The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony in the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Kim Menezes, followed by a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy, Dean, School of Engineering & Sciences, and Organizing Chair. Convener Dr. Anindita Roy Chowdhury introduced the event, highlighting the importance of indigenous scientific advancements. Prof. Shashikant Gupta led a session on the applications of the Raman Effect.
Competitions included Ingenium, a scientific project expo; Techorate, a scientific speech competition; and Rangovation, a scientific rangoli competition. The valedictory session honored winners, with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Manka Sharma, Assistant Professor, School of Engineering & Sciences.
