B.Design (Hons.) Visual Communication
The curriculum for the B.Des. Programme inculcates from the very beginning, the importance of design process and critical thinking. Structured to give the students adequate learning both conceptually and skills.
The Programme envisions that by the end of the course, students are not only trained and equipped with their professional learning, they are also sensitized and nurtured to be good, empathetic and ethical participants of a vibrant design community of the future who can bring about a change in the quality of life and create a sustainable new world.

UID’s course on Visual Communication empowers the student to produce creative solutions to meet visual design needs of society. It helps students to become problem solvers and develop effective information & communication. Students are equipped with technical and conceptual skills to articulate and express ideas, think conceptually, conduct research and critically evaluate the process. The course involves imparting Knowledge in Critical Thinking, Design Process and Visual narratives to create defined solutions in the ambit of both Digital and Print mediums.

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES
PSO 1: Visual Language Skills – Develop the ability to effectively use tools of Visual Design to communicate messages. Strong conceptual and design system thinking skills to generate innovative ideas and visual concepts that effectively communicate complex narratives through imagery, motion graphics and multimedia, enabling creative and impactful content that can adapt across domains, platforms, and contexts.
PSO 2: Proficiency in Technology & Media – Demonstrate technical proficiency of a wide range of design software & tools used in the profession, and the ability to upskill with new and emerging technologies used in Production processes in the manufacture and creation of Print media & Digital media.
PSO 3: Communication Strategy for Social awareness and Sustainability – Develop a Professional & Ethical understanding of cultural and social contexts to create human centric visual communication that is sensitised, relevant, ethical, as well as sustainable for diverse contexts.

PO1. Apply design principles intelligence, speculation, and analytical skills, methods and techniques to develop original solutions for design problems and scenario.
