Introduction: The School of Law at GD Goenka University is a premier institution of legal education in India, recognized among the Top Law Schools in North India by Legal World and Outlook Rankings (2023), and awarded Most Promising Law School in India by Competition Success Review (2024).

Established in 2014 and approved by the Bar Council of India, the School has consistently championed excellence in legal pedagogy, research, community service, and professional development.

Our academic model is built on clinical and outcome-based legal education, aligned with national priorities and global standards. The curriculum features 21 core subjects, 6 optional papers, 8 honours courses, and a diverse pool of 54 electives, empowering students with both a strong legal foundation and sector-specific expertise. Our course offerings address local, regional, national, and international legal challenges, covering areas such as:

Students can opt for dual specializations such as IPR with Corporate Law, Criminal Law with Cyber Law and AI, and Arbitration and Mediation with International Trade Law, making them highly adaptable in a dynamic legal job market.

We place strong emphasis on experiential learning, integrating 15–30% clinical components into the curriculum. Our students routinely engage in:

• Moot court exercises and ideathons
• Trial advocacy and client counseling
• Live streaming of Supreme Court proceedings

Centres of Excellence

The School hosts multiple specialized research and policy centres, each fostering excellence in its domain:

• Centre for Conflict Resolution (CCR): Offers professional training in Arbitration, Mediation, and Online Dispute Resolution (ODR), in collaboration with CIArb, and the Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation (IIAM). CCR trains students and faculty to become certified neutrals and promotes technology-led dispute resolution.
• Centre for Women and Child: Dedicated to gender justice and child protection, conducting socio-legal research, legal literacy drives, and advocacy campaigns.
• Centre for IP Studies, Research and Extension: Facilitates in-depth academic and policy work on intellectual property rights and technology law.
• Centre for Corporate Law, Policy Research and Governance: Specializes in corporate governance, financial regulations, and business policy analysis.
• Centre for Constitutional Law and Human Rights: Focuses on the promotion and protection of constitutional values and civil liberties.
• Centre for Environmental and Sustainable Development: Engages in environmental law research and supports initiatives aligned with SDG 13 and climate justice.
• Pro Bono Club (under the Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India): Encourages a culture of voluntary legal service, facilitating access to justice for underprivileged communities.

Judicial and Professional Preparation

The Judicial Training and Coaching Centre (JTCC) serves as a dedicated training wing for aspiring judicial officers and litigators. It offers structured test preparation, faculty mentorship, and mock court simulations.

Student-led bodies like the Clinical Legal Aid Centre, Electoral Club, and Student Think Tank offer co-curricular platforms to develop legal reasoning, public service ethics, and leadership skills. These initiatives directly contribute to SDG 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions and SDG 5 – Gender Equality.
