Some of the focused activities are
- The Placement Team identifies the potential recruiters, interacts with selected companies and coordinates the visit of such corporate executives to the campus, virtual interviews, pool campus drives at different locations.
- Career counselling by CRC &faculty mentor in different functional areas.
- A structured Employability Skills Development Programme, wherein variousskills sets are exposed by trainers
- Students are encouraged to participate in PDP/ Employability Skill development department, regular practice on Maths/Quant, Reasoning &English language, Exposure on different industries & their expectations.
- Guiding for effective resumes and application.
- Mentoring by the alumni, in terms of sharing experiences vis-à-vis realities of corporate life, refining expectations and projecting future trends
- An effective way of creating awareness about companies among students is to provide information. The information could be in the form of JD from company, brochures, pamphlets and other published information.
- At GDGU, various events, guest speaker panels, conferences, workshops and academic fairs are organized in which companies participate directly or contribute through partnerships
- Projects are an integral part of the academic curriculum at GDGU. Both summer and live projects with organizations provide students with basic understanding of the company’s operations; this ultimately enhances the adaptability of students at large
Placement Process:
Recruitment Registration
All recruiters participating in the Final interviews are required to register with the CRC Department. Students need to adhere current placement policy, this may change in favor of students and university based on industry requirements and market scenario for jobs.
Pre-Placement Presentation/Talks
- Organizations interested in conducting Pre Placement Talks are requested to coordinate with the Placement Cell and fix dates for conducting the same.
- The Pre Placement Talks may to be conducted any time prior to the beginning of the Pre Interview Screening.
- Members from companies interact with students on campus through Business Thought Leadership Sessions, Guest Lectures, Live Projects, and other Corporate Forums
- The companies conduct Pre-Placements Talks to give in-depth information about them including the roles and profiles being offered.
Pre-Interview Screening & final Selections
Recruiter may conduct the Pre-interview screening if they wish to. The applicants selected in the Pre Interview Screening shall qualify for appearing in the Pre or Final interviews as per recruiter’s norms.
- Student profiles and other relevant details are shared with companies
- Applications are invited and resumes of interested applicants are shared with the companies.
- Based on factors such as profiles and locations offered, and student’s perceptions and areas of interest, companies are ranked and called on campus
- Companies conduct their selection process which typically comprises CV based short listing, group discussions, tests and interviews
- After final round of test and interviews results are announced by the companies.
Unique Summer Internship Program and Mentor-ship:
As a compulsory part of curriculum, UG and PG students are required to undergo Summer Internship with an organization for a period of 8-12 weeks. The selection process for Summer Placements starts after the first term for the first year students. The period of Summer Internship is normally from the beginning of April to the mid of June.
Apart from the summer internship by the students enrolled for all courses at GDGU, students are also encouraged to have Mentor-ship program. Several companies tend to absorb the interns as full-time recruits post the completion of the students’ academic curriculum as they understand their potential.
