Introduction: Dr. Amar Nath Singh has total 31 years’ experience in the field of Weed Science. Professor Singh initially joined as Agricultural Research Services as Scientist in ICAR and worked about 6 years at ICAR-Directorate of Weed Science Research, Jabalpur, MP. Thereafter, Dr. Singh worked about 25 years in various capacities as Assistant Director (Weed Science)/Deputy Director (Weed Science) and Joint Director (Weed Science) at Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Storage, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.
Before joining School of Agricultural Sciences, G.D Goenka University Dr Singh hold the office of Joint Director (Weed Science) at Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Storage, Faridabad. He organised many training programmes for Farmers, Government officers, extension workers, industry experts, standardised many SOPs related to phytosanitary and import-export of horticultural and other product. Professor Singh was member for accreditation and licencing of many pesticide and weedicide companies and laboratories.
Dr. Amar Nath Singh has earned his PhD Agronomy from the Indian Agricultural research Instittute (IARI) and MSc and BSc from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.

- Human Resources Development (HRD) in IPM by imparting training to master trainers, extension workers and farmers through Farmers' Field Schools (FFSs)
- Season Long Training (SLT) programme on major agricultural/horticulture crops to the State Agricultural Officers and Extension workers.
- Training to Plant Quarantine Officers and Treatment providers for Export and Export materials as per Standard Operating Procedures( SOPs)

NSPM -9 Force Hot Air Treatment (FHAT) for Wood Packaging Material
NSPM-12 Guidelines for Accreditation of Fumigation Agency for undertaking Mbr (Methyl Bromides) fumigation.
NSPM- 15 Hot water immersion Treatment facilities for Mango Fruits.
NSPM - 18 Heat Treatment Facilities for Niger Seed.
NSPM - 20 Vapour Heat Treatment Facilities for Fresh Fruits & Vegetables.
NSPM - 22 Guidelines for Accreditation of Fumigation Agencies for Undertaking Aluminium Phosphide (ALP) Fumigation.
- The field trial of various weedicides had also been conducted to assess the effect of phytotoxicity of Registered Weedicides.
- Worked at Central Insecticide Board & Registration Committee (CIB&RC), Faridabad from 2011-2015 as an expert of weed science for scrutiny of the files of Herbicides for registration purpose under Section 9(3),TI,FI,TIM & FIM etc. of Insecticides Act 1968.
- Scrutinised and got approval of hundreds of cases related to various endorsement e.g. Change of Address, proprietorship and selling of pesticides to other company, etc.
